Model ACM "POSI-CLEAN" Elements

Model ACM "POSI-CLEAN" Elements Concord wedgewire screens are designed to give maximum open area and deliver top performance in any screening application. Every step of production from raw material, wire shaping, screen winding to finished product is done under the same roof, ensuring the quality of the most vital part of any liquid or solid separation strainer filter element.

The "POSI-CLEAN" straining elements manufactured by Concord are available in reverse wrapped configuration from 0.001" (25 micron) to 0.500" (12,500 micron). Concord "POSI-CLEAN" straining elements are designed to give maximum open area and to deliver top performance in any straining or filtering application.

"POSI-CLEAN" axial elements are also available from 0.0006" (15 micron) to 0.001" (25 micron) for fine filtration.

All elements are designed to withstand full line differential pressure at operating temperature without deformation, distortion or element failure.

Model ACM "POSI-CLEAN" Elements "POSI-CLEAN" elements discourage wedging of particles by helical wrapping of vertical rods with a "V" shaped profile wire. All internal vertical rods are welded to the surface wire at every intersection. The vertical rods being rigidly welded give a smooth unobstrcted surface and to not impede the free flow of materials across the "POSI-CLEAN" element. This forms a continuous slot which limits the contact of particles to two points in the screen slot and prevents plugging and aviods the stapling effect inherent with other filter medias. In this way, the optimum efficiency is assured by maintaining the maximum effective flow area. When it becomes necessary to clean the surface of the screen, backwashing is made more effective due to the abundant open area of the "POSI-CLEAN" design.

Wire mesh screens flex under differential pressure which causes treatment media abrasion and creates fines which can clog the media. In contrast "POSI-CLEAN" elements are rigid, providing plugging and abrasion resistance. The stable interface between the "POSI-CLEAN" element and the media, further minimizes the abrasion of particles and creates more efficient flow collection.

Model ACM Control Systems

Every ACM strainer is shipped completely assembled, ready to operate. A single 1/3 H.P. motor drives the backwash mechanism of the largest strainer size. The automatic backwash controls (if required) actuate the backwash cycle.

Concord automatic controls are engineered and designed to allow for optimal performance and wase of operation. They are factory set and field adjustabole so as to provide for minimal loss of backwash liquid and provide total cleaning of the "POSI-CLEAN" elements. Where the loss of backwash liquid or solids is critical, Concord provides the Model ACMWS.
