Model ACM Self-Cleaning Strainer The Model ACM self-cleaning strainer provides a highly efficient and reliable means of removing solids from process fluids. A cluster of wedgewire "POSI-CLEAN" straining elements provide positive straining. The exclusive "POSI-CLEAN" straining elements are designed with a unique "T" shape to promote free flow of the incoming liquid and to discourage wedging of any particles. Normal flow is from the inside to the outside of the straining elements and backwashing is accomplished by the reversal of the flow through the elements. The "POSI-CLEAN" straining elements are arranged to accumulate debris on the inside.

A rotating arm which is vented to the atmosphere isolates each "POSI-CLEAN" element for cleaning. Cleaning is accomplished by taking advantage of the system pressure and the use of a small portion of the system flow. When a "POSI-CLEAN" element is isolated, an effective backwashing action is created without disturbing total flow. Accumulated debris is flushed out of the "POSI-CLEAN" element through the backwashing arm and into the drain.

The Model ACM self-cleaning strainer can be ordered with either continuous backwashing or with the addition of a variety of optional control packages for intermittent backwashing.

The Model ACM self-cleaning strainers are capable of handling flow up to 32,000 USGPM and straining as fine as .004".


Typical Strainer Specification

The strainer shall be a self-cleaning type, capable of handling ________ (fluid) at a flow rate of ________ GPM with approximate pressure drop (clean) of ________ PSIG. The strainer shall be Model ACM as manufactured by Concord Screen Inc., and suitable for a working pressure of ________ PSI and a working temperature of ________ °F.

The strainer body shall be fabricated of ________ (material) with flanged inlet and outlet connections and shall have a bolted cover.

The independent, replacement straining elements shall be Concord Screen's exclusive "POSI-CLEAN" reverse wound wedge-wire construction. The elements shall be ________ (material) construction and have ________ (size) slotted openings.

The strainer shall include a rotating electric motor driven backwash assembly shall effectively isolate each "POSI-CLEAN" element and will utilize a portion of the flow to backwash the isolated straining element.

This strainer will have a drain connection for backwashing.
